I currently work within the field of artificial intelligence, digital media and online-communications strategies.
Educational background and work experience
I am Associate Professor and a textbook author with more than 25 years of experience in teaching, research and practical guidance on digital technologies, communication and knowledge work. My work is situated at the intersection of artificial intelligence, learning and professional knowledge practices.
I hold a PhD from the University of Copenhagen, where my research focused on comics aesthetics as a distinctive form of communication. In recent years, my research and teaching have focused on how generative AI reshapes learning, professional knowledge work and human judgement. I teach students, educators, researchers and communication professionals how to use AI critically, strategically and productively in everyday practice.
My current research explores AI-augmented Personal Knowledge Management, with particular attention to epistemic uncertainty, Human-in-the-Loop practices and the changing conditions of professional judgement. I investigate how generative AI affects the traditional knowledge processes of seeking, making sense of and sharing knowledge — especially when AI begins to produce plausible syntheses on behalf of the user.
