Labs at EK

At EK, you will find a wide range of labs and workshops that students, teachers, and alumni can use for projects, teaching, and assignments. In the workshops, it's possible to get access to 3D printers, laser cutters, robots, VR equipment, and much more.

Circular Lab

Circular Lab works with materials and new business ideas with a circular mindset.

Circular Lab is a community lab focused on circular business models, strategies, and design. It is open to EK's students, teachers, and members of partner institutions. Circular Lab collaborates across the other labs at EK.

As part of Circular Lab, you will find Material ConneXion. At Material ConneXion, you can explore physical samples, development, and information about the latest materials.

Circular Material Lab

Circular Material Lab is a hands-on lab focused on circular economy, sustainability, and materials.

In the Circular Material Lab, there is space and freedom to explore, experiment, and work with materials in all their forms. We focus on sustainability and the circular economy, working with materials with this in mind. This includes everything from seaweed, bioplastics, and bacteria to ways of extending the lifespan of existing materials in products, such as oil-based plastics, textiles, and paper—and much more.

The lab is used for teaching, workshops, events, and experiments.

Lab 16

Lab 16 is a prototyping workshop specializing in AM/3D printing and SMD electronics.

Lab 16 specializes in AM/3D printing and SMD electronics, but also offers a wide range of prototyping and production machines such as laser cutters, CNC milling machines, injection molders, and print cutters.

Lab 16 is open to students, alumni, and collaborative partners.

Maker Lab (Guldbergsgade)

Maker Lab is a prototyping workshop. We provide students with the necessary facilities and tools to turn their ideas and study projects into physical prototypes.

In Maker Lab, you will find a wide range of equipment that allows you to explore different manufacturing methods and materials.

We offer a broad selection of advanced production technologies. These include, for example, laser cutters, a CNC mill, 3D printers, textile and T-shirt printers, and a sticker printer. You can 3D print or laser cut your prototypes, print T-shirts and posters—and much more.

Maker Lab (Lyngby)

Maker Lab Lyngby is a prototyping workshop. We provide students with the necessary facilities and tools to turn their ideas and study projects into physical prototypes.

In Maker Lab Lyngby, you will find a selection of equipment that allows you to explore different manufacturing methods and materials.

Among other things, you will find a CNC mill, 3D printers, various tools, and soldering stations you can use together with a wide range of electronic components.

Media Lab

A creative lab for technology, innovation, and visual storytelling.

Media Lab is one of EK’s technology labs, focusing on new technology and digital storytelling. The lab is open to all students, teachers, and staff, providing access to advanced equipment, hands-on learning, and professional guidance.

All equipment can be borrowed free of charge, and you'll receive support on how to use it effectively in your projects.

Media Lab has a strong focus on storytelling through video, photography, podcasting, and print. We offer fully equipped video, photo, and podcast studios—ready to use. In the lab, we experiment with the latest film and visual techniques, such as virtual production and AI-supported filmmaking.

Tech & Story Lab

In Tech & Story Lab, you can experiment with new technologies and create captivating storytelling.

In the lab, students gain hands-on experience with a variety of equipment. Here you will find everything from cameras, microphones, and lighting equipment to AR/VR gear, AI technologies, and Raspberry Pi.

The best part is that you can borrow it all for free.

Additionally, Tech & Story Lab focuses on storytelling through podcasts, photography, and video. As part of Tech & Story Lab, you will find studios for podcast and video recording as well as photo studios.

We regularly hold workshops on using eye-tracking equipment, storytelling techniques, camera gear, artificial intelligence, and much more.
