Denmark's largest business academy

About EK

Business Academy Copenhagen (EK) is Denmark’s largest academy, offering full-time and part-time higher education programmes. We teach and conduct research in close collaboration with companies.

As of 1 July 2025, KEA and Cphbusiness have merged to form Business Academy Copenhagen (EK).

As one unified academy, we have combined our strengths to give students more opportunities, a stronger sense of community, and even closer ties to the real world.

Our goal is to create a powerhouse for professionally oriented higher education in the Capital Region of Denmark. A unified academy provides a stronger financial foundation to support quality, development, and well-being across education, research, administration, and operations.

As one institution, EK is better equipped to address today’s major challenges – including increasing demands for sustainability, new technologies, AI, and more. At the same time, a larger, unified academy in the Capital Region raises the visibility of academy profession and professional bachelor programmes benefitting both students and the business community.

EK is Denmark’s largest academy, with 20,000 students across 13 campuses in the Capital Region. We offer 44 full-time programmes and 27 part-time programmes that provide students with hands-on, practice-based education in areas such as construction and energy, finance and economics, engineering and environment, design and experience, business and marketing, and IT.

At EK, students don’t just gain new knowledge – they apply it in projects, in practice, and in close collaboration with industry.

Organisation

EK consists of 13 departments located in Copenhagen, Lyngby, Hellerup, Hillerød, and on Bornholm. The Business Academy is led by the executive board and the board of directors.
