Research at EK
Business Academy Copenhagen (EK) is an educational institution conducting research within construction and design, digital, finance, technical and commercial fields. Our ambition is to generate new knowledge that can be applied in both private and public sectors in Denmark and internationally.
At EK, research projects are developed in collaboration with assistant professors, associate professors, and docents, and we work closely with small, medium, and large companies in the Greater Copenhagen area to find answers to real-world challenges. Through our work, we contribute to strengthening the academic foundation of EK’s study programmes, and our goal is to inspire Danish businesses to make decisions based on research-driven knowledge.
EK’s research efforts are coordinated by the Applied Research and Innovation department. The department ensures quality, good research practices, and capacity building. It also supports business collaboration, partnerships with other knowledge institutions and research clusters, and manages external funding for research projects.

Collaboration on research projects
Engaging in research collaboration with EK can take many forms.
All our research projects share the goal of generating new, practice-oriented, and applicable knowledge. Our assistant and associate professors have subject-matter expertise, and we are always keen to put this knowledge into play through concrete partnerships with companies and other knowledge institutions.
Are you a company in need of knowledge to move forward or a researcher looking to collaborate with researchers from EK? Whether it’s joining a research project alongside our faculty or pitching an idea for cooperation, we’d love to hear from you.
